About Us

bayshore builds AI agents for legal and compliance — software that turns complex rules into clear, auditable decisions. Our platform combines a legal reasoning engine with end-to-end automation to help enterprises move faster without sacrificing compliance. We work with some of the world's largest organizations, including DAX-listed and Fortune 500 companies.

We're backed by one of Europe's leading inception funds and are assembling an exceptional team to shape how regulated enterprises adopt AI at scale.

The Role

As our Founding Software Engineer (Full-Stack / Infrastructure), you'll shape the foundation of bayshore's product and engineering culture. You'll work directly with the founders and customers, ship fast, and make decisions that define how our stack, product, deployment architecture, and team evolve.

This role is intentionally broad. We're looking for people who can take end-to-end ownership of technical outcomes — whether that means building customer-facing product features, designing production-ready system architecture, or leading enterprise deployments and integrations.

What We Offer

  • Real ownership: Shape the product, architecture, deployment model, and engineering culture from day one.

  • Speed and impact: Few meetings, no bureaucracy — ship fast and see your work used immediately.

  • High talent density: We hire for exceptional ability, high standards, and low ego.

  • Learning and growth: Exposure to every layer — product, infrastructure, AI, enterprise deployments, and customer problems.

  • Competitive package: Strong equity, competitive compensation, and long-term upside.

  • Mission with leverage: We will change how law works — from manual rules and paperwork to software that runs itself.

What We're Building

  • Agentic enterprise software that automates entire compliance and legal workflows, built for complex enterprise environments, high information security standards, and hybrid cloud deployment

  • Systems that turn unstructured policies and regulations into executable logic using graphs, ontologies, and rule-based systems, and by building a proprietary DSL (baycode)

  • High-performance, high-accuracy retrieval and reasoning systems — compliance and legal workflows do not tolerate hallucinations

  • A data flywheel that improves with every new decision and expert interaction

  • Robust workflow orchestration with deep integrations into internal and external systems — hundreds of jobs running in parallel, intelligent enrichment, grounded outputs, and full traceability

What You'll Do

  • Build and scale AI-native systems that automate complex legal and compliance workflows

  • Own products and systems end-to-end — from idea and prototyping to deployment and operation

  • Design and implement agentic workflows that combine retrieval, reasoning, enrichment, and actions across enterprise systems

  • Build customer-facing applications with TypeScript, React, and Next.js

  • Extend our proprietary domain-specific language, baycode, and build tooling that enables both humans and AI agents to create and maintain executable compliance logic

  • Build knowledge systems that transform policies, regulations, and enterprise documents into structured, executable representations

  • Develop integrations across enterprise systems, including email, document repositories, APIs, and MCP-based ecosystems

  • Improve the quality and reliability of LLM-powered systems through evaluation frameworks, testing, monitoring, and production feedback loops

  • Work directly with customers and help shape bayshore's technical and product direction

Requirements

  • Thrive in early-stage startups: high ownership, high speed, high ambiguity, low bureaucracy

  • Have built and shipped products from scratch with significant ownership over architecture and implementation decisions

  • Strong experience with TypeScript and modern web application development

  • Comfortable building across the stack, from customer-facing product experiences to backend services and infrastructure

  • Experience building AI-native applications using LLMs, retrieval systems, workflow orchestration frameworks, or agentic architectures

  • Strong understanding of information retrieval, search, knowledge representation, or workflow automation systems

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices

  • Able to rapidly prototype and iterate while maintaining a high bar for quality and reliability

  • Comfortable owning technical projects end-to-end and communicating with both users and technical stakeholders

  • Care about product and user experience as much as engineering quality

Nice to Have

  • Experience building production agentic systems, AI copilots, autonomous workflows, or enterprise automation platforms

  • Experience with RAG architectures, vector search, graph-based retrieval, knowledge graphs, ontologies, or file-based knowledge representations

  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks and observability systems for LLM-powered products

  • Familiarity with MCP ecosystems, tool-calling architectures, and complex multi-system integrations

  • Contributions to open-source projects, developer tooling, AI infrastructure, or agent frameworks

Our Stack

TypeScript, React, Next.js, AWS, OpenTofu, baycode, and LLM-based systems.

Location & Logistics

  • Location: Munich, on-site

  • Start: ASAP

  • Compensation: Competitive salary + equity

The Founders

We're a small, hands-on founding crew — Philipp Wiegand (GTM), Paul F. Welter (Legal AGI), and Erik Krauter (Product/Tech) — who like to build close to customers.
