About Us

bayshore builds AI agents for legal and compliance — software that turns complex rules into clear, auditable decisions. Our platform combines a legal reasoning engine with explainable automation to help enterprises move faster without sacrificing compliance. Our clients are some of the world's largest organizations, including DAX-listed and Fortune 500 companies.

We're backed by some of Europe's leading venture funds assembling an exceptional team to shape how regulated enterprises adopt AI at scale approaching Legal AGI.

The Role

As our (Senior) Legal AI Associate you'll shape the foundation of bayshore's product and engineering culture. You'll work directly with the founders and customers, ship fast, and make decisions that define how our stack, product, and team evolve.

What We Offer

  • Real ownership: You'll shape the product, architecture, and engineering culture from day one.
  • Speed and impact: No layers, no bureaucracy — you'll ship fast and see your work used immediately.
  • High talent density: We hire only the best and create a culture of ambition, integrity and growth.
  • Learning and growth: Work closely with one of the early, internationally renowned pioneers of legal tech.
  • Competitive package: Strong equity (FT only), competitive compensation, and long-term upside.
  • Mission with leverage: We will change how law works — from manual rules and paperwork to software that runs itself.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with our client's management mapping their processes and distilling requirements
  • Understand the decision logic of regulations and our client's internal policies
  • Redesign legal workflows of our customers with an AI-first approach
  • Help encode legal rulesets into code that AI can execute
  • Automate what used to require armies of compliance officers and lawyers
  • Influence product direction through tight feedback loops with client users

Requirements

  • Graduated in law with outstanding performance (vollbefriedigend or equivalent international grade, or other documentation of outstanding expertise)
  • Relevant work experience in law or law-adjacent fields (especially pharma, defense, or finance)
  • Believe that AI can do many aspects of legal work
  • Comfortable using computers and instructing them using a programming language designed for lawyers (we will teach you the language)
  • Move fast, think clearly, and take ownership
  • Prefer simplicity over abstraction and shipping over talking
  • Enjoy client-facing work with strong business sense, prioritizing delivering value to clients
  • Want to build something that matters and see your impact every day
  • Thrive in early-stage startups: no processes, high ownership, high speed and ambiguity

Location & Logistics

  • Location: Munich, on-site
  • Start: ASAP
  • Compensation: Competitive salary comparable to law firm (salary + equity + bonus)

The Founders

We're a small, hands-on founding crew — Philipp Wiegand (GTM), Paul F. Welter (Legal AI), and Erik Krauter (Product) — who like to build close to customers. Philipp and Paul first teamed up at Stanford; Philipp and Erik are alumni of the Manage and More scholarship.
