Black Forest Labs is a cutting-edge startup pioneering generative image and video models. Our team, which invented Stable Diffusion, Stable Video Diffusion, and FLUX.1, is currently looking for a strong candidate to build exceptional AI-powered user experiences.
As our Product Engineer you’ll work in collaboration with our researchers and infrastructure engineers to translate complex generative model capabilities into intuitive, performant web experiences that push the boundaries of what's possible with generative AI.
The Role
- Build and ship high-quality web applications using Next.js and modern React patterns
- Work closely with cross-functional teams on translating technical capabilities into compelling value propositions
- Create intuitive interfaces for complex AI model interactions and workflows
- Develop and maintain robust frontends for our models APIs (eg: Playground, Dashboard)
- Transform research models into production-ready demos and MVPs
- Drive performance improvements for handling high-volume media processing and real-time inference
Ideal Experience:
- Expert proficiency in Next.js, React, and TypeScript
- Proven track record shipping production web applications at scale
- Strong product sense and ability to make thoughtful UX/technical tradeoffs
- Experience leading projects from concept to launch with minimal supervision
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills across the full stack
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to translate technical features into customer benefits
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments
Nice to have:
- Track record of building developer tools or creative applications
- Previous experience building interfaces for generative AI applications
- Experience with AI/ML concepts
- Experience with A/B testing and analytics implementation
- Experience with growth / marketing / messaging
- Contributions to open-source projects
