With an exceptionally diverse team of 150 people spread across the US and Europe, CARTO (backed by Accel Partners, Salesforce Ventures, Earlybird Ventures, and Kibo Ventures, among others) is changing the way companies analyze location data - making it simple to do this straight out of modern, cloud data warehouses. Redefining its category, the company has grown rapidly in recent years providing a compelling alternative to legacy GIS software.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Account Manager for United Estates & Canada. We have a wide array of clients, ranging from retail giants to regional governments or healthcare providers. In this role, you will be focused on customer retention and renewals, partnering with our Enterprise Customer Success Managers to generate new growth and revenue in our existing accounts.
Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our strategy and product.

What you will achieve

  • Successfully renew over 85% of the contracts within the assigned book of business on a quarterly basis using outstanding negotiation skills.
  • Successfully upsell and expand over 25% within the assigned book of business on a quarterly basis.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizations and procurement processes. Forecast accurately growth and retention metrics and close track of key account metrics.
  • Maintain an excellent and thorough knowledge of our products and services and how these can bring value to our clients.
  • Gain a good understanding of the client’s business, needs, expectations, and requirements.
  • Manage and cultivate positive relationships to successfully retain and grow clients.
  • Deliver results through managing other teams involved in the client’s success.
  • Educate and engage key contacts at the customer to ensure the customer is getting maximum value from their relationship with CARTO.
  • Provide feedback to our Product and other teams to help inform future directions in our product development.
  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.

What you need to thrive

  • 5+ years of experience in software sales, account management, or renewals manager capacity for a SaaS, data, or cloud product preferably focused on the data analytics or geospatial space.
  • A sharp, analytical mind, and a track record of building strong, functional relationships with clients. You are detailed and results-oriented with the ability to prioritize, plan, and execute a range of key activities.
  • Collaborative mindset and eagerness to thrive in a flexible, fluid operating environment
  • Persistence in exploring and uncovering the business needs of key clients.
  • Top-notch communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to convey the value of CARTO to our clients. Additional languages are a plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of negotiation skills with a special focus on closing
  • Experience doing business in multiple countries is a plus.
  • Most of all, you are optimistic, data-driven, smart, and eager to learn!
