DraftWise is industry-disrupting software for law firms. Our core product is an IDE for lawyers, built on a foundation of data management and analytics. The legal world is ripe for technology, and we intend to bring step-change improvements to legal workflows.

Our founding team composes of ex-Google, ex-Palantir engineers and seasoned lawyers from top law firms. Our small team of 25 today is focused primarily on engineering, product and design. We're all currently mostly remote but have a small office in New York City, but we plan to open offices in Europe as we are eagerly but consciously adding new members to our team from all over the world. About the Role

We are seeking an Finance and Operations Generalist to join our team, while working with Founders directly, being responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing fixed asset transactions, conducting balance sheet accrual reconciliations, and managing compensation and commission calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end closing, accounts payable/receivable, GL reconciliations, fixed asset management, and expenditure tracking/reporting
• Collaborate with external accounting teams for quarterly reporting and coordinate with external tax teams for annual tax filings to ensure regulatory compliance
• Track compensations and variable commissions across 8 US states using the Rippling system
• Coordinate annual R&D credit application, ensuring accurate submission for maximum tax benefits
• Manage international payments and FX risk, ensuring precise transaction recording and reporting
• Administer vendor payments and client invoicing, meticulously monitoring invoice statuses for efficient financial oversight
• Help founders in identifying areas for cost reduction or resource reallocation
• Assist sales team with ad hoc reporting and data analysis using tools like HubSpot and Salesloft, providing accurate financial insights for decision-making
• Process automation
• Build out the end to end pipeline for the SMB / B2C product (sale, invoice, accounting, billing)

Requirements

• Professional experience in accounting, tax, finance and operations
• Proficient in English language
• Proficiency in MS Office suite
• Capable of handling multiple deliverables and prioritizing tasks effectively
• Have experience collaborating closely and communicating efficiently with both internal and external stakeholders within a dynamic, rapidly expanding startup atmosphere
• Self starter, autonomous approach
• Needs to be available to work at least 3 days a week during US time zone working hours
