About Earlybird

Earlybird Venture Capital focuses on European technology companies. Founded in 1997, Earlybird identifies and backs exceptional early-stage companies on a pan-European basis and supports them through their growth and development phases – providing financial resources, strategic support, plus access to an international network and capital markets. Earlybird invests out of a family of independently-managed funds. Flagship funds with early-stage focus include Digital West (Western Europe), Digital East (Emerging Europe), and Health. Newer funds Earlybird-X (pre-seed in Western Europe & university spinoffs) and Growth Opportunities (a pan-Earlybird growth fund) offer even more agility. With EUR 2 billion under management across all fund streams, 9 IPOs, and 33 trade sales, Earlybird is one of Europe’s most established and active venture capital firms.

At Earlybird, your projects, responsibilities, and tasks will likely include:
  • Budgeting, liquidity planning, treasury, public authority management, investment controlling, valuation, investor reporting, financial modeling, and day-to-day fund accounting operations under the guidance of the VP Finance
  • Managing accounts payable and general ledger accounting for investment funds
  • Preparing, compiling, and verifying external investor and regulatory reports
  • Participating in financial audits, preparing annual financial statements, and optimizing process workflows
  • Conducting special analyses and projects, presenting detailed findings for management review
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as assigned related to Fund management.
What we hope you bring to the role:
  • You possess an academic foundation in business or finance, along with 2-4 years of experience at "Big 4" firms or similar institutions. Prior auditing experience in private market funds (PE/VC) is highly advantageous
  • Proficiency MS Office, Fundrbird and Vestberry knowledge is considered an asset
  • Preferably experience in credit, asset-backed securities, consumer loans, or securitizations
  • Project management in a fast-paced company, aiming to implement new tools
  • Strong aptitude for learning, communication, and quick concept grasping
  • Demonstrated precision, conscientiousness, and proactive work ethic
  • Native German, and effective English communication
