Job description
eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future.
We are looking for an HF Lab Engineer (m/f/d) to design, test, and optimize microwave and RF systems at the core of our trapped-ion quantum computing platform in Siegen.
Responsibilities:
As a HF Lab Engineer in the Electronic Engineering Team, you will play a key role in testing, validating, and integrating RF systems that support our next-generation quantum computing platforms. In this role, you will work closely with our international team of physicists and engineers to develop, characterize, debug, and optimize high-frequency hardware systems in advanced laboratory environments.
Installation, testing, and debugging of high-speed digital, RF, and low-noise analogue hardware for quantum computer applications
Support system operation during the validation and characterisation of our quantum computing platforms
Collaborate closely with engineering and firmware teams to develop and integrate RF systems for next-generation quantum technologies
Take ownership of developing new validation protocols and defining characterization standards
Job requirements
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, RF/Microwave Engineering, Physics, or a related field
Hands-on experience with high-speed digital and RF hardware systems
Strong understanding of RF systems, including RF measurements, debugging, and hardware validation
Experience in installing, integrating, and validating RF and microwave hardware systems in laboratory environments
Experience with laboratory equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
Excellent organisational skills
Structured, analytical working style with strong ownership and execution focus
Fluent English
