We are a growing team looking for a Carrier Representative in the Capacity Team to help us on our journey to revolutionize road freight logistics. The role is located in our Manchester office.
WHAT YOU WILL DO …
As a Carrier Representative (Freight Forwarder- Road Transport) you’ll work on interesting responsibilities like securing capacity for loads (find trucks for loads) to meet customer’s transportation needs, building relationships with the carrier community to grow their portfolio and ensure freight moves in accordance with customer’s expectations. You’ll be collaborating with haulers and fellow colleagues across Europe to develop a network of trusted partners. In this role, you will …
- Ensure freight moves according to customer expectations by aligning capacity with shipments and focusing on covering as many loads as possible with your carrier portfolio.
- Proactively identify daily issues and implement effective resolutions.
- Secure shipping capacity through carrier communications, inbound requests, rate negotiations, and informed buying decisions.
- Ensure acquired capacity meets specific shipment requirements.
- Use internal pricing tools to purchase capacity within budget and at market rates.
- Research, establish, and grow new carrier relationships through outreach and qualification efforts.
- Maintain relationships with existing carriers through regular communication and engagement.
- Participate in carrier account reviews, discussing needs and strategies for future business growth.
- Drive automation of carrier activities, ensure quality expectations are met, and adhere to internal trading rules.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR …
- Bachelor's degree or 1- 3 work experience in road transport.
- Fluent in English and any other European languages.
- Entrepreneurial character and international mindset.
- Strong ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate, and influence others.
- Ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results.
- Proactive and problem-solving mindset.
