We are a growing team looking for a Carrier Manager the Carriers department to help us on our journey to revolutionize road freight logistics. The role is located in our Amsterdam office.
WHAT YOU WILL DO …
As a Carrier Manager you’ll work on interesting responsibilities like building contractual relationships as well as negotiating spot market commitments with carriers, you will be the main contact person for carriers, providing day to day status updates, identifying issues; the operational responsibility for our carriers and expanding our carrier network, in order to meet the needs of our customers and offer the best quality on the market. - Develop new and grow existing carrier relationships (lead generation, cold calling and referrals).
- Build strong relationships with trucking company key contacts (i.e., owner operators, dispatchers and drivers).
- Identify issues and work cross-functionally to determine and implement the best solution.
- Provide exceptional service to our carriers and customers.
- Ensure shipment details are accurately communicated and tracked in the system.
- Negotiate the best prices with our carrier partners.
- Take a data-driven approach solving difficult issues.
- Help define processes to increase efficiency and profitability of our business.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR …
- A commercial & proactive mindset.
- Experience in the field of freight forwarding and/or within the transport industry (carrier facing).
- Enjoy solving complex challenges in a fast-paced transport environment.
- Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results.
- Excellent English & Dutch or German skills.
