Key Responsibilities:
- Database administration, including performance tuning, and implementing best practices
- Develop and mentor coding standards
- Implement new data maintenance processes
- Evaluate and implement recent technology solutions
- End-to-end process ownership
- Communicate with stakeholders
- Conduct knowledge exchange sessions with technical and non-technical audiences
- Automate manual processes and develop data tools
- Build new analytical processes, provide insight into data quality issues and implementation of data improvement solutions
- Build processes to fetch data from open data sources, e.g. websites
- Research and implement modern data mastering techniques to increase derived insight into disparate data sources
- Support other data engineers with design of ETL processes, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Develop and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and data lineage
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a technology-related field
- 5-8 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of data transformation processes, exposure to standard and complex datatypes
- Knowledge of latest solutions in the market is a plus
- Knowledge of Data Operations methodology and data management approaches is preferred
- AWS/GCP certification (including cloud environment administration) required
- SQL Server administration (tuning, database design and optimization)
- Strong knowledge of Python and SQL required
- Experience with a variety of coding tools and languages (SSIS, C#, Python, Git/Bitbucket, APIs, NoSQL)
- Experience with CoPilot Agent Studio a plus
- Knowledge of Jira, AI, Graph database is preferred
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and reporting tools (Power BI)
- Understanding of security and version controls
- Experience in managing stakeholders and project plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
