HiveMQ’s Vision for this role

We are looking for a VP Sales EMEA who will be responsible for building and leading a team of senior sales professionals and overseeing all aspects of the regional sales strategy in the EMEA territory. Together with your team, you will be breaking new grounds! You will report directly to the CRO and own the responsibility for all sales and channel related activities across the region.

You will ...

  • Be a highly entrepreneurial and enthusiastic 'hands-on' leader with a proven track record in growing high-performing sales teams that deliver results based on superior sales execution.
  • Develop a rapid and coherent plan for regional expansion with a special emphasis on creating net new opportunities, inbound opportunity management, high velocity pipeline management and the successful closure of both “everyday” as well as global enterprise deals
  • Take ownership & accountability for all revenue targets, pipeline generation and sales forecasting. You will build on the existing reporting and management framework to ensure HiveMQ has a predictable view of its growth engine and what it is capable of delivering monthly
  • Evaluate and evolve existing sales processes and best-practice playbooks. You will already know how to build upon repeatable processes to sell predictably, develop and champion a qualification framework, setting high standards for the team and managing towards them
  • Show your ability to balance the build-out and day-to-day management of high-performing teams & processes with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and lead by example. In doing so, you will naturally attract, retain and reward high performers into your team
  • Be a team player, you understand sales is a team play, a single sales person can not sell without other key functions like solution engineering, legal, marketing, sales development, product, etc.
  • Be comfortable to occasionally travel to our HQ, in the region of Munich, Germany

You have ...

  • Fluent in German and English
  • At least 10+ years experience selling infrastructure software such as messaging systems, databases, SaaS, or big-data products
  • Repeatedly built and led high-performing technology sales teams consistently over-achieving, ideally in enterprise infrastructure arena
  • Fast growth/scale-up start-up experience, ideally taking the business from $10M to $40M+ in ARR
  • The experience of driving a newly-formed sales team to hunt for new business and for new opportunities to sell to existing clients, leveraging modern sales tools and techniques including active use of social media, engaging with the end user community and understanding decision making chains in large organisations
  • Successfully designed and implemented highly effective and scalable rock-solid sales strategies and processes that ensure delivery on the revenue goals and strategic sales plan agreed with you and the team
  • Successfully hired, trained, developed and managed top sales talent in a way that they consistently achieve and exceed ARR targets
  • Implemented regular forecast and tracked key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results, pipeline, deal velocity, customer lifetime value and annual forecasts)
  • Actively collaborated with (Product) Marketing on the go-to-market strategy, messaging, and demand generation to continuously build and manage demand and pipeline for new name prospects
  • Collaborated with Sales Development Teams and Channel Sales Teams
  • The ability to build strong, but ego-free, internal and external personal relationships
  • A sense of urgency to identify and fix issues right away
  • The ability to give and receive constructive feedback
