Your Mission

The Accounts Payable Team Lead is a pivotal role within our organization, playing an instrumental role in the oversight and management of our financial operations. This position reports directly to the Head of Finance, maintaining a close working relationship while providing in-depth insights into the company's financial health. The role covers management of critical financial areas such as Accounts Payable, Spend Management, and other related financial activities, ensuring the company's monetary resources are effectively and efficiently utilized.

More specifically, you will:

  • Accounts Payable: Take charge of the accounts payable function, overseeing all aspects of invoice processing, payment facilitation, and vendor interactions. This includes ensuring accuracy of all invoices, timely payments, and resolution of any discrepancies or issues related to vendors' accounts
  • Spend Management: Develop, implement, and administer spend policies and procedures aimed at optimizing the use of company funds. This involves managing and supervising budgeting processes, conducting financial forecasting, performing variance analysis, and making recommendations to enhance financial efficiency
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and training to members of the finance team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. This includes identifying skill gaps, developing training programs, and ensuring all team members are well-equipped to perform their roles effectively and efficiently
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant Tax Laws, Financial Regulations, and Reporting Standards. This includes staying updated on all changes and amendments in regulations, conducting regular audits, preparing financial reports, and ensuring all financial operations are conducted in compliance with legal guidelines
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department, identifying opportunities for process improvements, increased efficiency, and cost savings
  • Vendor Management: Maintain and foster good relationships with external vendors, ensuring contracts are effectively managed and all obligations are met
  • Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to the Head of Finance and other stakeholders as required, providing clear insights into the company's financial status and performance
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other department heads to align financial management strategies with the company's overall business objectives

Who you are and what you have

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in Accounts Payable
  • At least 3 years experience in leadership
  • Experience with international finance or dealing with overseas vendors
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax laws and regulations
  • Working experience in SAP S/4HANA
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to foster strong relationships within and outside the organization
  • Fluent in German and English
