Mission Brief
You will be an integral part of the Avionics, Guidance, Navigation & Control (AGNC) department, specifically the Avionics Hardware team, that designs and integrates Avionics on our launch vehicle. Your day-to-day job will include working on the Power System and Flight Termination System (FTS) of our rocket Spectrum, as well as maintaining associated power system interfaces. You will take ownership of the power system units of the FTS and be part of the core team developing, integrating and testing Spectrum’s Li-Ion Batteries. Interdisciplinary tasks and fast paced R&D are your daily business, and you thrive in that kind of environment.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
- Own the power system units of the Flight Termination System
- Perform in-field power system & FTS test campaigns and produce relevant procedures and documentation
- Support in testing, documentation and architectural design activities of Spectrum’s FTS system
- Perform avionics integration and check-out tasks during launch vehicle build-up, as well as during testing on the launch pad in Norway
- Maintain, challenge and verify Power System & FTS requirements
- Develop, test & integrate Spectrum’s Li-Ion batteries
- Build up and maintain automated qualification & acceptance testing infrastructure for the Power System and FTS components
Qualification Checklist
- BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering, Energy Science and Technology or comparable
- Excellent knowledge of semiconductors and solid-state power controllers
- Hands-on experience with power systems and power electronics
- Experience in electrical circuit and board design
- Experience in testing PCBs and electrical systems
- Excellent knowledge of Li-Ion battery system technology and state-of-the-art cell chemistries
- Experience in Li-Ion battery pack design and relevant battery testing
- Experience with Altium Designer
- Fluent in English
Bonus Skills
- Experience with launch vehicle flight termination systems and flight safety is a plus
- Experience with SMC or RCC standard is a plus
