Mission Brief
The Propulsion Support role for the Fluid System is a part of a team that is responsible for the functional design, manufacturing and testing of the fluid delivery system to the engine and launch vehicle related valves of the Spectrum launch vehicle.
In the Propulsion Support role, you will be contributing to the development and operations of the whole vehicle fluid system and valve testing.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
- Assist in planning and executing testing campaigns of fluid-system subsystems, in collaboration with the system responsible.
- Update of documentation, procedures or processes in the design, testing or operation of the vehicle fluid system.
- Be responsible for vehicle schematics and associated documentation & update processes.
- Engage in smaller design tasks in close collaboration with respective system responsible.
- Conduct AIT (Assembly, Integration, Testing) work for flight and prototype valves.
- Track manufacturing and external procurement of components of the fluid system.
Qualification Checklist
- Currently enrolled in an engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field of aerospace, mechanical engineering or similar.
- Hands-on experience in the development or testing of complex systems, preferably on cryogenic or rocketry testrigs. Such experience can come from either relevant positions held, or internships, clubs, and other extra-curricular activities.
- Able to perform in high-stress environments, maintaining focus and concentration for long durations.
- Capable of designing fluid and mechanical systems from theoretical concept to realisation and commissioning.
- Fluent in English.
Bonus Skills
- Hands-on experience with fluid system and piping/tubing.
- Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Matlab, C, C#, Cobol).
- Experience with 3D modelling software (Solidworks, CATIA, NX, Rhino...).
- Experience with instrumentation and control systems.
- Knowledge of hazardous systems (cryogenic, flammable, explosive, or similar).
- Knowledge about rocket propulsion systems.
- Fluency in German.
