Mission Brief

You will be an integral part of the Avionics, Guidance, Navigation & Control (AGNC) department, specifically the Structures & Connectivity team, that designs the complete Launch Vehicle harness in close collaboration with the in-house harnessing production team as well as all relevant stakeholders from other departments.

You will be the product owner of the Launch Vehicle Harness of the current Launch Vehicle Iteration. You will own the lifecycle of it, manage associated interfaces and ensure delivery on time, budget and scope. Interdisciplinary tasks and fast paced R&D are your daily business, and you thrive in that kind of environment.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

  • Design harnesses from electrical schematics through 3D CAD modeling
  • Engineer harnesses with attention to pinning, shielding, routing, and EMI/EMC compliance
  • Generate manufacturing files and documentation (e.g., 1:1 drawings, assembly instructions)
  • Interpret system-level diagrams to ensure harness compatibility across subsystems
  • Track design changes and adapt harnesses accordingly
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (structures, propulsion, sensor, actuator teams) to align interfaces and requirements
  • Support integration and production activities, ensuring manufacturability and installation feasibility
  • Collaborate in maintaining the sensor and actuator database up to date for harness integration consistency

Qualification Checklist

  • BSc/MSc in Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Extensive experience in harness design, sizing, and documentation from concept to production
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX), including harnessing modules
  • Experience in 3D harness design and routing, including bundling, clamping, and path definition
  • Experience with SolidWorks Electrical, Capital, or similar tools is required
  • Strong understanding of EMI/EMC challenges and mitigation strategies
  • Ability to interpret system-level diagrams and wiring schematics
  • Knowledge of harness manufacturability, installation, and maintenance considerations
  • Experience with electrical testing methods for harness validation
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with aerospace harnessing standards and practices
  • Experience in RF harnessing applications
  • Hands-on experience in harness assembly
