The impact you will make
In this pivotal role, you'll drive breakthrough fusion energy projects by refining and owning our technical roadmap in collaboration with senior leadership. You and your team will be the engine of the company—defining structures and processes to seamlessly integrate the development of our target and laser technology as well as powerplant design—ensuring we construct our first powerplant prototype by the early 2030s. Additionally, you will support initiatives to secure public funding in Germany and the US alongside the Technical & Finance teams and Governmental Affairs, ensuring that all applications are executed to the highest standards and delivered on time.
Your responsibilities
- Overarching PMO Framework: Define and implement processes, structures, and templates that streamline project management activities across Marvel Fusion.
- Roadmap Management & Communication: Continuously refine and update the Company Roadmap jointly with the Leadership team during regular offsites. Ensure that the roadmap is seamlessly communicated to all employees so everyone understands its contribution to our strategic vision.
- Roadmap Execution: Manage both strategic and operational projects with internal and external partners. This includes planning, resource allocation, and ongoing performance tracking to ensure the seamless execution of key initiatives.
- Monitoring Progress: Establish and manage an internal monitoring system to track the progress of individual projects and programs. Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership, ensuring that initiatives remain on target and aligned with strategic objectives.
- Tooling: Evaluate, implement, and manage cutting-edge knowledge and project management tools to optimize workflows and enhance team collaboration across the organization.
- Public Funding Support: Collaborate with the Technical & Finance teams and Governmental Affairs to support initiatives to secure public funding in Germany and the US. Ensure that all funding applications are executed to the highest standards and delivered on time.
- Maintain Strong Communication: Foster clear and consistent communication across all departments by facilitating cross-functional meetings and providing regular project updates, ensuring transparency and collaboration throughout the organization.
- Collaborate in a Dynamic Environment: Work closely with business professionals, scientists, and engineers to bridge technical and commercial perspectives, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
What you bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with an engineering or physics background (including industrial, mechanical, or chemical engineering).
- 5 years of hands-on experience in project management, operations, finance, strategy, or a similar role—preferably with proven success in a high-growth startup environment.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts.
- The ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining high work quality.
- A high level of initiative, a hands-on mentality, and strong professional commitment
- Proficiency in working both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, social, and communication skills.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and German.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
