- Utilize common laser diagnostic and nonlinear techniques to measure and analyze ultrafast pulses
- Develop and enforce laser operation procedures, safety protocols, and ensure compliance with safety standards
What you bring
- You have completed a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field, or possess equivalent experience with comparable breadth and depth
- 5+ years of postdoctoral (or equivalent) experience in experimental studies of ultrafast laser physics involving high-energy or high-average power lasers, or similar systems
- Experience in designing, developing, and commissioning high-peak-power laser systems, with a strong foundation in laser science, technology, and optics
- Expertise in short pulse amplification in large aperture laser gain media, with compressed sub-ps pulse durations, such as glass laser systems or other equivalent broadband systems, or high energy narrowband CPA systems with multi-Joule output energy
- Knowledge and experience in measuring and analyzing ultrafast pulses using SPIDER/FROG or similar techniques, dynamic range scanning cross-correlators, and functional optimization of key laser components
- Passion for Laser Technology and hands-on work in a laboratory
- Curiosity, growth mindset and openness to new ways of doing things
- A healthy amount of flexibility, adaptability and can-do attitude
- You demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- You are willing to reside in the greater Munich area
What sets you apart
