We are currently looking for an Interim Tax Director to join a dynamic and international business during an important period of transformation. This is a short-term interim role for a senior tax professional who can combine strong technical expertise with strategic thinking, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a complex multinational environment.
The role might be based in our Berlin, Bucharest or Wrocław office.
WHAT YOU WILL DO …
As Interim Tax Director, working on a part-time basis, you will play a key role in overseeing the tax function and ensuring the business is supported across a broad range of corporate tax matters throughout the interim period. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, internal teams, and external advisors, providing guidance on both day-to-day tax matters and more complex strategic projects. In this role, you will…
- Lead and manage the tax team, providing guidance, support, and direction where needed
- Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of tax compliance and advisory matters
- Manage complex tax topics, including transfer pricing, M&A, tax audits, and Pillar Two
- Drive strategic tax projects and provide clear guidance to the business
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, and Group functions
- Liaise with external advisors and manage tax risks effectively
- Escalate critical issues where necessary and ensure business continuity throughout the interim period
- Oversee budget submissions and tax-related reporting to the Group
- Contribute to process improvements and the ongoing efficiency of the tax function
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR …
- A senior tax leader with at least 15 years of tax experience
- 10 years of experience in Big 4 or equivalent advisory background
- Experience in large multinational companies, including team leadership in a complex, international environment
- Strong background in corporate tax, transfer pricing, M&A, and complex audits
- Proven experience in managing teams and working with senior stakeholders
- Ability to operate in a highly complex, executive-level environment
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Strong leadership and people management abilities
