Your Mission
Your mission: you as an Associate Legal Counsel, you will play an important role in the Technology Legal function. As a primary responsibility, the role supports and offers advice to stakeholders and has an open channel with the extended legal team on the applicable area(s) of expertise - product compliance (consumer protection, privacy, product liability, AI, etc.), technology and M&A contracts, and intellectual property.
The Technology Legal team is a team of professionals with expertise in various areas, including intellectual property, M&A, and data protection, and is part of the overall UiPath Legal family. The team supports UiPath’s mission through close alignment and timely engagement with stakeholders in Product & Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and others, as needed.
What you'll do at UiPath
- Monitor and keep current on relevant industry standards, laws, and regulations, and provide advice on a dynamic range of issues related to compliance with those laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Review, draft and negotiate various types of agreements and licenses, including technology partnerships, procurement agreements, and software licenses, including open-source software licenses
- Offer legal compliance advice in the product development lifecycle, review products, feature, and initiative to provide advice consistent with UiPath’s legal obligations in multiple jurisdictions
- Support on intellectual property protection and registration internal and external formalities
- May support with legal assistance in the company’s mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate development initiatives
- Monitor and support the management of inbound and/or outbound claims, proceedings, or litigation, on their area(s) of expertise
- Draft clear and concise public facing FAQs and policies, disclosures, disclaimers, terms of use, and internal policies
- Provide advice and legal opinions to cross-functional stakeholders, including Product & Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, People, and others, as needed
- Support with the creation and maintenance of policy and contract templates together with applicable playbooks and escalation matrices
- Contribute to know-how and helps with dissemination within legal and with stakeholders outside of legal, including content creation and delivery of training
- Collaborate within legal and with business owners to help drive company strategy, improve associated processes and ensure business demands are satisfied

What you'll bring to the team
- BA and MA in law from a reputable university
- Relevant technical degree or high level of comfort with technology are nice to have
- At least 2 years of relevant legal experience
- A very good understanding of landscape and substantive provisions of international laws relevant to the Expertise
- Interest in learning industry standards and market practice
- A great understanding of issues relevant for the role
- Comfortable with learning new legal areas and skills
- Very good understanding of the company’s technology and profile; good understanding of the TAM, competitors, and the industry landscape
- Understanding the business goals and the commercial opportunities in their projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and collegial attitude
- The ability to work very good with stakeholders
