We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution to offer a broad range of investment products in their apps. We’re based in Berlin but would consider hiring remotely for this role. If you do want to move to Berlin though, we’re happy to support your relocation.

Your mission:

You will be responsible for supporting key compliance measures in a constantly growing international office, including supporting the following matters and projects

  • Establish a control framework and carry out controls as a Second Line of Defence with the focus on the adherence of laws and regulations applicable for an investment firm
  • Support and monitor the business areas regarding the remediation of identified weaknesses
  • Advise the Compliance Officer on your findings and recommendations
  • Prepare reports to the Senior Management and further relevant stakeholders within the legal entity but also on Upvest Group level
  • Prepare and conduct Compliance trainings for clearing and trading employees and Senior Management on relevant compliance topics
  • Further develop and enhance the existing Compliance Management System

    Job requirements:

    • You have successfully completed your university degree in economics, business administration and law or equivalent. If not you have comparable professional experience;
    • You have at least 2 years of professional experience in the field of securities trading or AFC/AML or a comparable environment.
    • Self-motivated and have a focus on delivery with a result-oriented and structured approach to problem-solving;
    • Strong communication skills in English including the ability to present complex topics in a comprehensive way
    • Flexible and willing to learn new topics and take on new tasks independently to round off your profile.

    Desirable

    • Sound knowledge about securities trading and its surveillance, including relevant regulations, especially MiFID II, MaComp advantageous
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound and balanced decisions
