Your Teams Mission:
The Infrastructure team’s objectives include creating a robust, secure, resilient, and observable cloud first infrastructure for engineering teams to build and operate products on. The team’s principles include themes such as autonomy for engineering teams, a loosely coupled architecture, flexibility, efficiency, security and ease of adoption. It does this by evolving the cloud architecture and offering capabilities that can be used discretely or composed into a platform experience.
Your Mission:
As a Senior Cloud Engineer in the Platform Tribe, you will play an important role in growing and shaping our cloud platform and architecture. You will work to ensure our cloud components are secure, cost-efficient, self-serviceable and reusable.

Collaborate with Platform Engineering Teams – Design, implement, and optimize cloud services, advising teams on leveraging Google Cloud and Crossplane.
Enhance our Cloud Platform – Improve scalability, resilience, and efficiency by building reusable components and optimizing cloud resource consumption.
Make Metrics-Driven Improvements – Track and enhance key metrics around cost, availability, and security.
Automate Infrastructure – Develop pipelines for seamless deployment and advocate best practices in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Improve Security & Compliance – Implement cloud-native security, align with compliance standards, and manage third-party solutions.
Job requirements
Must-Have:
Proven experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with expertise in core services such as Compute Engine, GKE, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
Deep knowledge of cloud architecture principles, including scalability, high availability and disaster recovery.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
Proficiency in automation and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Cloud Build.
Nice-to-Have:
Hands-on experience with Crossplane for infrastructure management and control.
In-depth TCP/IP and data center networking (VPN, Cross-Connect) knowledge.
Experience working in a highly regulated business.
Basic familiarity with Kubernetes.
Knowledge of FinOps practices for cloud cost management.
Strong understanding of security frameworks and tools (e.g., IAM, VPC Security, Cloud Security Posture Management).
Experience with observability tools and platforms such as Opentelemetry, DataDog, Stackdriver, Prometheus and Grafana.
Familiarity with Platform Engineering methodologies and tools.
