At Greenlyte Carbon Technologies, you will be responsible for our Project Manager for Development and Deployment of Direct Air Capture Plants.

This includes

  • Defining and managing the strategic scope of projects in collaboration with leadership.
  • Lead internal project teams and oversee technical coordination throughout the Product Development Lifecycle, including design reviews, quality control of specifications, P&IDs, and assembly designs.
  • Providing stakeholders with transparent visibility into budget vs. actuals and roadmap progress.
  • Standardizing project governance methods aligned with our business strategy to ensure effective resource management.
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating risks while tracking performance through clearly defined KPIs.
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders and partners on various site development activities.
  • Maintaining clear, ongoing communication with all involved parties.
How you'll contribute

Specifically you will…

As a Project Manager for our Direct Air Capture (DAC) deployment projects, you will play a critical role in driving the successful delivery of large-scale initiatives—from early design to full implementation. You will be responsible for managing project timelines and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivery milestones.

You will lead cross-functional internal project teams and oversee technical coordination throughout the entire Product Development Lifecycle. This includes conducting design reviews, maintaining quality control of technical documentation such as specifications, P&IDs, and assembly designs, and ensuring consistent execution of high-quality hardware and software systems.

Your first 12 months in the role: expectations and deliverables

Months 0–3: Laying the Foundation

  • Get familiar with our DAC technology, project development lifecycle, and existing project portfolio.

  • Understand our internal processes, quality standards, and governance frameworks.

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and leadership teams.

  • Review current project scopes, timelines, and budgets to gain visibility into ongoing initiatives.

Months 3–6: Taking Ownership

  • Take ownership of managing timelines and budgets for assigned projects.

  • Lead internal project meetings and begin driving cross-functional coordination.

  • Oversee technical documentation quality, including P&IDs, specifications, and assembly designs.

  • Apply standardized project governance methods to structure and steer project activities.

  • Start proactively identifying risks and tracking KPIs to measure progress and performance.

  • Support coordination with external stakeholders on site-related activities.

Months 6–12: Driving Impact

  • Fully manage the delivery of a major DAC deployment project.

  • Optimize resource allocation and project workflows to align with strategic priorities.

  • Continuously improve stakeholder communication and visibility on budget and delivery timelines.

  • Champion quality and consistency in the deployment of hardware and software systems.

  • Drive strategic project scope planning and long-term roadmap alignment.

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to scaling project governance best practices.

About you

✔ 3+ years of experience managing complex technical projects, ideally in hardware, process, or plant engineering

✔ Degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical field

✔ Highly organized and comfortable in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities

✔ Solid understanding of project governance, cost control, and risk management

✔ Familiarity with technical documentation such as P&IDs, assembly drawings, and specifications

✔ Clear and confident communication skills for aligning internal teams and coordinating with external partners

✔ Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a hands-on approach to problem solving

✔ Fluent in English; German is a plus

This role cannot be done remotely. We require someone who lives within commuting distance to Essen or is open to relocate which we are happy to support.
