Our company offers a hybrid/remote work model. However, this position requires frequent attendance at our office in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Ideally, you are based in the Neuchâtel area or are willing to travel regularly if residing elsewhere in Europe.

Role Overview

You own and continuously improve the systems, integrations, and automations that power Hilo's entire organization. You connect tools, eliminate manual work, and ensure data flows reliably across every function — from commercial and customer-facing teams to operations, finance, and beyond. You are technically hands-on: you build and maintain integrations yourself, and act as the bridge between business needs and technical implementation. Your key output is a connected, efficient, and well-documented tech stack that scales with the company.

Core Responsibilities

Systems & Automation Strategy

• Own our collaboration & productivity tools as well as relevant business systems and define a clear roadmap for integrations and automations across all functions.
• Proactively identify manual workflows, application and workflow silos, and system gaps — and eliminate them through automation and smart integrations.
• Ensure every team has the tools and automated workflows they need to operate efficiently, without unnecessary manual overhead.
• Co-define ROI metrics with stakeholders for every initiative and trace outcomes to ensure measurable impact.

Integration & Automation Development

• Design, build, and maintain integrations across Hilo's platforms using tools such as Make, Zapier, n8n, or custom API connections.
• Automate data flows between systems to ensure information passes seamlessly between them.
• Own the technical implementation of new key tools and system improvements end-to-end — from scoping to deployment, maintenance, and documentation.

Data Integrity & Operational Reliability

• Monitor integrations and automations for errors, and proactively maintain and improve them over time.
• Build and maintain clear technical and process documentation for all integrations, automations, and workflows.

Background & Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in a technical operations, systems, or automation role with hands-on implementation responsibilities.
• Strong practical experience building integrations and automations using platforms such as Make, Zapier, n8n, or equivalent — including API-based integrations.
• Solid understanding of how SaaS platforms integrate and exchange data, including working knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, and data transformation.
• Experience working across a broad range of business tools — e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce, Intercom, Confluence, Slack, and similar platforms across commercial, support, and internal operations.
• Able to work autonomously and execute technically without relying on an engineering team for routine integrations and automations.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to translate business needs into clean, maintainable technical solutions.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong and proactive communicator.
• Hacker mindset — curious, resourceful, and biased toward building and prototyping over overthinking.
• Genuine curiosity about and understanding of business processes across functions; able to engage with stakeholders to deeply understand their workflows before automating them.
