Product Engineer - Process Lifecycle
Porters
The Context: Porters is building the operating system for autonomous banking. We are moving beyond document extraction to driving operations and determine the "next best action" for a bank. We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer to build the "Brain" that manages complex process lifecycles and determines case outcomes with the best combination of deterministic, software development and agentic tools and workflows.
The Mission: You will own the high-complexity logic capacity of the product. You aren't building a simple CRUD app, you are building the "Action Engine", our system that decides if a customer matches a record, if an insolvency workflow is triggered, if an account gets blocked, or if seized funds are transferred, every decision is recorded in our immutable ledger.
This job is in person (Zurich, Switzerland) or remote (CET +/-3 hours).
Your responsibilities
-
Engineer the Action Engine: Design the core logic that run mission-critical banking operations processes using a combination of Python methods and AI tools, ensuring the system navigates the most complex financial operations process trees.
-
Integrate AI Logic: Build the code that consumes AWS Bedrock outputs and translates them into strict banking actions.
-
Orchestrate the Workbench: Implement and further develop orchestration to drive the workbench where AI and humans collaborate.
-
Set the Bar High for AI Applications: Challenge the traditional way of writing software and trade-off probabilistic and deterministic approaches for solving a problem.
Your profile
-
Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, product engineering, or a related role
-
Product Engineering Mindset: Strong ability to bridge business requirements with engineering, discuss tradeoffs, and proactively suggest ideas, with proven ability to work directly with clients to translate their needs into technical reality, especially for process design and engineering
-
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Python is mandatory, with additional experience in API development (REST) and process orchestration frameworks
-
Agentic Proficiency: Experience in developing agentic tools and workflows that integrate into traditional deterministic processes
-
Quality Assurance: Experience with monitoring/tracing solutions (e.g., Sentry) and advanced testing frameworks
-
Startup Ethic: Pragmatism, ownership mindset, and teamwork. You are comfortable working in a regulated fintech environment where precision matters
